Bannock is solid. It won't blow you away, but they serve up a relatively eclectic array of "Canadian" dishes that you won't find elsewhere.

Their pizzas, while non-traditional, are quite good. One of my favourites is the roast duck poutine pizza, which sounds risky but is worth the payoff. I've also tried the roasted salmon which is a hit.

I've been here many times, the food quality is always consistently good.
I really wanted to provide a 4 star but the recent experience has been a little disappointing from the service perspective.
The server forgot one of our guest's order, another guest had to ask multiple times for pepper (his food got cold waiting for pepper). it was just messy service. For the guest that they forgot his order they eventually took the bill off the food item, but they still charged him for the beer. In my opinion they should have took the beer off too, because the beer was ordered to go with the food, and if the food is not here, the beer wasn't enjoyable for him either.
Therefore overall, this restaurant is pretty okay, but that messy service is kind of annoying.

I dined out at this place twice and didn't want to come back again if I had other choice.

The Mac and cheese was okay here but the rabbit pie was way too salty. All other food was mediocre.

Whenever I have guests in town who want "Canadian cuisine" this is where I take them to experience some of the most luxuriously delicious food they'll ever find in the country (truthfully, I'm just always looking for any excuse to visit). I am especially excited when I see meats such as venison and rabbit on the menu, as they are not as widely available at other restaurants, and they do them so well here (think an explosion of amazing flavours in your mouth). Their menu is definitely a fine celebration of Canadian comfort food.

Came here for a laid back lunch with some colleagues at the tail end of Summerlicious 2019.

    I ordered:
    - Bannock Caesar salad: Nothing special. Croutons appeared to be made of pita rather than bread. Regret not selecting the fried mac and cheese with basil pesto, which was the overwhelming favourite.
    - Roasted mushroom pizza: Crust was more akin to pita than traditional thin crust. Good flavour combination with cheesy white sauce, but again, nothing groundbreaking.
    - Buttermilk panna cotta: Rich and creamy texture, balanced with tart rhubarb compote and some granola.
    - Berry sparkling drink: $6, not included with the prix fixe special. Berry, lime, elderflower. Refreshing and not too sweet.

Overall, the food was mediocre to average. My colleagues who chose the teriyaki salmon bowl as their main entree felt it was way too salty. I'm not in any hurry to come back at this price point.

Note, I did come here many moons ago to try the duck poutine pizza. The portion size was huge. I would recommend to share with others in your party if you're going to order this, as it won't keep well as leftovers.
